How to Directly Upload External Audio Files to Historia

Historia now offers a convenient beta feature that allows you to upload pre-recorded audio files directly to your stories. This enhancement means you're no longer limited to recording within the Historia interface, giving you more flexibility in creating and sharing your memories.

With this new upload capability, you can import previously recorded audio files.

File Requirements and Specifications

Supported File Format

MP3 is the recommended file format
Other audio formats may work but could encounter transcription issues
If you experience problems, try converting your file to MP3 format
You can make use of this website to convert your audio files into MP3 format: https://ffmpeg.gcc.ac.cn/index.html
- Please ensure you set the output file name to end in mp3 or otherwise it will not convert your file.

File Limitations

To ensure optimal performance, uploads must meet the following criteria:

Maximum duration: 15 minutes
Maximum file size: 20MB
Files must meet both requirements (whichever is smaller)

On any recording page, you can click the following text. It will open a file picker, where you can then upload the audio file.

Delayed Transcription

If transcription takes longer than 2 minutes:

Wait approximately 5 minutes
Refresh your browser page
Your audio and transcription should appear after reloading

File Format Issues

If you encounter transcription errors:

Convert your file to MP3 format using an audio converter
Ensure the file meets size and duration requirements
Try uploading again
